McCrary Park remains an integral part of Asheboro baseball today. The park currently is home to the Asheboro Blue Comets Junior Varsity and Varsity teams, Asheboro Colt League, Post 45s Junior Legion and Legion Programs, as well as the Asheboro Copperheads.

NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series. Ace Speedway is located in Alamance County, NC, about 25 miles northeast of Greensboro. The track was first constructed in 1956 by Roy Maddren and operated as a dirt track until 1989. It was paved in 1990 and under the ownership of Fred & Jim Turner.
